The following seven questions should help you evaluate your spiritual life.  Caution: one or more of these may bring you to your knees in repentance.

1. How many yesterdays must God faithfully carry you through before you are ready to trust His provision today and tomorrow?

2. How many crises must God enable you to survive before you are ready to trust Him for whatever He allows to come your way?

3. How many times must you take that Broadway with "everyone else" before you accept that His Narrow Way is really better?

4. How many times must you experience the liberty that comes with Truth before you stop being afraid of it?

5. How long, in fear, will you have to obsess with getting before, in faith, you discover the blessing of giving?

6. How many times must you be humiliated in your pride before you are willing to choose humility?

7. How many times will you unproductively blame your problems on others before you are ready to face your own need of transformation?

Okay, now let's talk to God about it. "Create in me a pure heart, O God,

and renew a steadfast spirit within me"
(
PS 51:10). Amen.
